A Trip to Disneyland and the San Diego Zoo!
A blog for your campaign

After saving Mr. Horus from Justin and Numan. Lilly Smith suggests to Reco Aric and Taki Taki that they go to Disneyland to take on Mickey Mouse. Though the two have nothing against Mickey they decide to go to keep Lilly out of trouble. They go to Anaheim and while standing in line they notice the ghost that accompanied Numan as he came off the plane. Lilly follows the ghost to the Mad Hatter ride. She stands in line as a subtle way to get near her. She recognizes that the ghost is dressed in an 1950’s style Yves St. Laurent dress. After a brief moment she recognizes the ghost as a model from that time. The ghost gets on the teacups and Lilly is placed in a separate teacup with a little kid who cannot handle the speed that she turns the wheel. The child gets sick on her and Lilly goes home.

This does not stop Reco and Taki from following the ghost. Taki gets close enough to bump into her and place a tracking device on her clothing. Just as they think about trying to capture her, fireworks and gunshots errupt and Taki is injured. Reco and Taki decide to leave Disneyland immediately.

In the days following their trip to Disneyland they monitor the ghost’s activities and find that she spends a lot of time at Disneyland. They contact Henry Morgan and begin to plan an exorcism.

San Diego Zoo

The latest news reveals a mysterious killing of several giraffes in the San Diego Zoo. At first Reco and Taki don’t think anything of it until Reco’s money laundering contact calls. He is concerned about money for giraffes that his shifting through his web of financial accounts since the people ordering them are not of the biology/zoology profession. He gives Reco and Taki the anticipated shipment of the giraffes to the San Diego Zoo.

Reco and Taki stake out the place. At first all they see is an evening zookeeper who is making the rounds. Then a truck arrives. the Zookeeper is confused because she isn’t expecting a shipment. Then in after speaking with someone she makes an abrupt decision to go back to her office. Reco and Taki recognize this as Mind Control and get closer to the shipment.

A Crocodile Dundee looking guy along with six other guys (they aura sight as vampyres)open the truck. Sure enough there are several giraffes. However, Reco and Taki overhear their plans to feast on the animals leaving them in the pen as another mysterious death. Reco and Taki jump into action. They successfully stake all six vampyres as the Crocodile Dundee leader flees. The zookeeper returns to find the mess. She faints from the shock and Taki uses Mind Control to make her forget the event. They release the giraffes into the zoo allowing the morning California sunlight to take care of the staked vampyres.

Meeting Mr. Horus

Here we meet the first three in the campaign. Reco Aric and Taki Taki are two animates working at a Kinkos. Reco is a burned spy (think Burn Notice) who is trying to find out who burned him (no copyright infringement here…la,la,la)and Taki Taki is the doctor who had the wrong client die on his watch while trying to save a kid (think Royal Pains. These kids really like TV don’t they). This Kinkos gig is a cover job they work to hide the fact that they are still accepting freelance work from the FBI and other outside sources.

After doing all the mundane chores of an evening shift at Kinkos, they play Rock, Paper Scissors, Lizard, Spock until they are interrupted by a voice. They are slightly surprised because they did not hear the front bell chime letting them know someone was there. Yet, their surprise is over once they see Ivan’s FBI contact, a daemon named Choisisi.

He has a job. A prominent L.A. club owner has been receiving death threats. He is weeks away from opening a new club and feels it is vital to have protection since he will have to spend more time in the public eye. The first event Reco and Taki are needed at is the opening of Stephanie Meyer’s movie New Moon (we are only a year ahead of the current time). Reco and Taki accept the job; and Choisisi in his rough brotherly way tells Reco not to mess this up.

In another part of town Lilly Smith is riding her motorcycle towards downtown. She is fairly new to town, having dropped out of a different dimension only two weeks earlier. She is keeping a pretty low profile after a run-in with a east coast gang that beat her up as she was trying to help defend someone else. She wears a stylized mark of horus, put on her face by the head gang member who also wore that mark.

As she is headed back downtown she notices that someone is following her.
